Mindfulness Mini Camp: Session 2

Service Description

Mindfulness Mini-Camps Children ages 8-13 are welcomed to come experience our Mindfulness Mini-Camps, featuring an all new self-reliance curriculum that offers more in-depth learning, deeper connections and increased levels of challenge each day. Our 3-day mini camps offer 1/2 day adventures in the Lake Tahoe Basin and run 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Day 1 features Mountain Top Yoga and a Guided Mindfulness Hike where the Mindful Focus is on increasing Awareness of both our external and internal worlds so that we can pause and choose to respond rather than react. Day 2 includes an in-depth Paddling Clinic offering prone paddling, stand-up paddling, and more guided by expert instructors. Our Mindful Focus on Day 2 is learning how to Calm our Bodies and Minds with relaxation and acceptance-based strategies for expanding distress tolerance. Our last day of camp culminates with a Mindful River Rafting Adventure when we get to put all of our new skills to use rafting the breathtaking Truckee River with professional rafting guides. Day 3's Mindful Focus is Approach, guiding us to embrace our fears as we persist in the face of challenge or in this case, rapids! Session 1 Dates are: July 12, July 13, and July 14, 2024.
